ShutterSMART was designed in 1991 with the goal of creating a high quality wood shutter that would combine quality craftsmanship with low maintenance and durability. Using state of the art Vinyl Clad Wood technology, ShutterSMART is built with a solid poplar hardwood core and clad with a rigid vinyl surface. ShutterSMART's wood structure captures the look and strength of a wood shutter without the maintenance hassles. Just like vinyl windows, the thick vinyl sleeve that wraps around the wood core will not scratch, peel, crack or fade under the hot sun. It is easy to clean and never needs to be repainted. While wood shutters do not give warranties on their painted finish, ShutterSMART comes with a lifetime Limited Warranty that covers any manufacturing defects including yellowing or discoloring. Also, all moving parts are easily replaceable at the job site, making ShutterSMART the ideal shutter for the most demanding applications.
 ShutterSMART is available in a variety of shutter styles and decorative frames. There are over six different shutter designs including Standard Folding, Bi-Pass, Bi-Fold, French Door, T-Post, and Café Style. Additionally, ShutterSMART offers a variety of frames designed to match any setting. Frames include Standard frame, Z frame, Trim frame, and Designer frame. The shutter can be ordered in white, off white, and ivory colors, is available with both 3" and 4" louver sizes, and may be built with painted or brass hinges.
